The key to a warm, dry basement is not just the type of insulation you use. Controlling rain water by connecting drainage pipes to your downspouts will make sure the water doesn't get into your basement in the first place.

  • Sir. You need to put your drainpipe deeper into the ground. If the pipe is below freezing when the snow on the roof melts in spring your pipe will be a Popsicle.
