Yet another hip hop instrumental beat I made on my Akai MPC 500. This one is more laid back, with a smooth atmospheric feel but still maintains a hip hop bounce in the drums. The sample itself had a mellow vibe which influenced the way I flipped it in the end.

The beat isnt completely finished yet, iv still to add a more solid bass line and some more finishing touches.

I'm really liking the beat alot man. I've got a question for you: How difficult is it to chop directly on the 500 versus the other mpc's? I use a 1000 myself but was thinking of getting the 500 for the portability.

@twista0506 Chopping a full sample on the 500 is damn near impossible. It doesnt have a wave editor so u would have to go through the sample adjusting start and end times (numerically) and extracting each part u want. It would take forever, its fine for cleaning single chops up though.
