The Healing Garden - Cathie Travers

My first opus for a new trio: pipe organ, sax and accordion...we don't even have a name for the group yet! Premiere performance on Sunday June 8, 2008 at Christchurch, Claremont Western Australia - a recital in the Pipe Organ Plus concert series.

It's a fairly minimalist little number dedicated to the fairly simple lifestyle I lead in the Australian bush.

it's interesting writing for pipe organ...the performance environment being a church certainly influenced my choice of mood and textures. Anyway, artsWA has just funded a commission for me to write a slightly larger piece for this ensemble, which we'll be premiering mid 09 :-)
