Back out with Joe...tent pegs. a bow.a bed of brushwood and ferns, a smoking rack.ponchos for a shelter,a slab of beef,jokes,Cold Steel,Shrade,Gerber,Swiss Army,a check by the Warden( fair play..but he didn't recognise Joe out of uniform..)Bergens bursting with gear and FOOD! basically a Boys Own special really....but still leaving the site in as untouched a condition as possible

Great stuff mate that machete really caught my eye. I can make smoke with the bow drill but no fire so i go back and watch Ray Mears again he makes it look so easy.

in response to the highly respected gent just now on the fact I was making a tent peg..I do have a whole pack of aluminium pegs in my bergen,and a Fox tarp ready to go with cordage attached but I don't take them out of my pack,the weight stays in..we use the old surplus ponchos instead and I make a peg which could be used next time if a dog hasn't walked off with it .gggrrr!

@RDPproject hiya..Joe has mentioned an LED conversion for his warclub..sorry Maglite but I am quite happy with my led stuff as it is so small but we ain't too worried about weight..one reason for the outing is to get some exercise..so we go heavy.I'm checking yout PM in a few secs!

Holy cow....hes carrying a big D cell Maglite....

Why doesnt he go for a small Gree chip LED torch instead?

Much lighter and more energy efficient.

I love the 'Ping' from that machete. Your making a tent peg...COOL.

@giutoniolo Thanks..this had been planned for about 4 weeks,, I work 12 hr days and really needed this break away from being the critical team member for one day at least...pure bliss to just have a crackling fire,birdsong and the wind in the trees...I'm missing it already,,,sob!
