Plowing sandy loam soil in October 2008 with Keyline Plow (Yeomans Plow). Oats planted 1 month prior to plowing.

You take that straight up grade. Those deep cuts channel water like french drains don't they? Would plowing perpendicular to the slope keep more water in the subsoil?

Abe Collins here. We do a lot of subsoiling too, all to good effect. Where are you located? How are your results from the plowing?
