i used to have this on VHS when i was younger, i got it from a second hand shop........ im not sure what happened to it the tape may have been chewed up in the video machine or lost. but you maybe able to find it on ebay or another on line store?
I have seen almost every episode, every movie, and all versions of Space Battleship Yamato / Star Blazers ever made. I will never get bored of it. Even my kids love it.
@bellefeu , this movie adaption was done "BEFORE" the TV series but with the full co operation of the creators as with the TV series, the names change but never the story
@August- Indeed it was... I caught the first airing in the states of season one after getting home from grade school one day. I started getting home MUCH faster when I discovered Star Blazers!
@goheen1701 Yes, this movie version, was shown in the US as early as Spring 1978 — a year and a half before STAR BLAZERS premiered on television in the Autumn of 1979.

If anyone knows where I can find a DVD copy of this dub, can they PM me? My VHS copy is not much longer for this world.

So this was the first ever dubbed star blazers, its interesting but the voice actors lack the depth and emotion from the series.
