One of the new additions is a new sump. This one has three 'chamber's separated by baffles. The first chamber is where the water will drain into the sump. It will flow from there to the refugium, and then into the third chamber where the return pumps will be located. After some investigation, I found out this sump holds just under 50 gallons.

  • Do you think that this one us better than your other one??

  • ZurichOne95 - I have no doubt about it. The old sump was 15-20 gallons, so this one is 2-3 times larger. It has well placed baffles so I can setup the refugium - which I have wanted to do for a long time. That should help keep the nitrates under control and provide plenty of snacks for the fish in the aquarium above. It's larger size will allow me to accommodate the two return pumps for the new aquarium and wont be as cramped. I have big plans for this and I am pretty excited.
