Just heard this on the radio. Been a long time since the day I saw SRV at the Wiltern in LA around 1986/87?. Still the best. Nothing compares today with how SRV played.

@lucascjardim, I think the 18s was a blatant exaggeration but I do believe that sometimes 14s or 15s may have ended up on there when he didn't have any 13s and broke one... there's also other false rumors how he cut out his finger and put lead int hem etc. but if he did that, the lead would tear through his fingers not make it easier to play 13s -- ask Tony Iommi

@lucascjardim Also, allot of people forget that Stevie's high powered overdrive was thanks to the sheer volume of his amps (they were at max), alowing the Tube Screamer to push it to a point where the speakers were basically ready to blow the roof off! But no one will be able to obtain Stevie's guitar prowess...his music was a force of nature for gosh sakes and his soul,his touch and tone will never be duplicated!NEVER!DON'T EVEN TRY HAHAHAHA!!!
