This is kind of a part two video to my NES PowerPak one. Just a quick overview of the SNES PowerPak.

You can purchase an SNES PowerPak from http://www.retrousb.com/

  • also wondering, since game play on the retro duo is better in 16 bit mode than 8 bit mode, could you put nes games on the super nintendo powerpak and play them that way? then you could have a few nes and a few snes games on the one powerpak.

  • @yamarati The RetroDuo is very different, as it just emulates the SNES and NES hardware using a single chip (or two), it may just be that it emulates the SNES more accurately than the NES (you see this happen with those Genesis clones all the time, they have a hard time getting the sound to be accurate). You can ONLY play SNES roms/games with the SNES PowerPak.

  • i have mariobuilderv12. when i finish building a game and publish it, can i put it on the flash card and play it using the powerpak?

  • @yamarati I would guess that it would work.

  • could you mod a control to work on the SNES put a new game say... Portal 2 on the memory thing then play it or would you have to rewire things for a better quality picture and better running of frames would it be possible Because i love Super Nintendo and i dont like that it was outdated i would like to continue playing games on it new age games but im not sure if its possible

  • @xXViewtifulJoeXx No, you can only play SNES games with this.

  • How do the save states work?

  • I think I'm better off just playing on an emulator with a usb version of the controllers.

  • Fuck yeah, F-Zero!

  • nintendo licesened this

  • @PikachuDude101 Out of the box the PowerPak comes with the DSP1, so it is better, but more expensive. You can buy the EverDrive and solder in your own DSP1 though.

  • I actually found that slowdown in many games like that was more helpful than anything. You should try playing the straight Japanese version of those types of games. They can be INSANE hard, and in some cases physically impossible to avoid taking a hit sometimes.

  • @thatguyontheright1

Of course doing it with the original specs of the SNES would be impossible, but a 16 bit rendition would be so neat.

  • whats the difference between the snes power pack and the snes everdrive? which one is better?

  • @xXViewtifulJoeXx Ready to learn how to program? Now that would be pretty cool if someone redid Portal 2 on SNES.
