* He has feeling for her, making it hard for him to put her in harms way.
* Hermione Senses that he does indeed have feeling under neither his cruel & cold front.
* Bellatrix knows Draco has a soft spot for Hermione. She uses Hermione as bate to get Draco to confess.
* Draco saves Hermione putting himself in danger.

D . ' Don't you understand, I have to do this' to Bellatrix.

*Draco's Mom tries to kill Hermione herself but, Draco stops her. Surprising even his mother.
*Hermione saves Draco after Bellatrix throws knives at him while Dobie Transports them away.
* Draco can't handle his feeling for Hermione...knowing her as a mudblood.

H . ' I worry about you '
D . 'I don't need your help'

*Knowing there is no possible way for the two to be together, Draco rejoins his slytherine family.
