10% Ethanol in my gas tank lowers gas mileage 10%. This means I have to refill my tank 10% more often, so it does not save oil. Pl 10% Ethanol in my gas tank lowers gas mileage 10%. This means I have to refill my tank 10% more often, so it does not save oil. Plus it cost a lot of energy to make it. This is a lousy deal oil-wise.Please see my web site at http://www.franklinlacy.com for more details and 10 of my other verifiable successful solutions from 1984 to 1/4/08.

  • full of shit.

  • @switchgrassfuel It's always nice to see those without the inclination to write logically reveal themselves by being reduced to name calling. By the way BP used my solution to stop the Gulf oil leak (sent in to them 5/25/10). I have not gotten around to putting this with verifications on my web site, yet. There are plenty more verafiable solutions of mine that the governments are using. franklinlacydotcom

  • you are a retard ethanol in a diesel? You would destroy it!

  • @halohadel Diesels will burn a lot of different fuels if the correct injectors and pressures are used. Ships run on bunker fuel, which is close to oil as it comes out of the ground. You would not want to use gasoline but ethanol mixed with diesel fuel at a 10% strength, should work. It does not burn fast. franklinlacydot

  • The oil companies are heavily invested in Ethanol production. It's just to keep people distracted so they don't develop real alternatives like electric cars or hybrids.

  • One must always ask, who stands to benefit the most? Then ask how much are these benefitters giving to people in government to win their support? Then ask whether these elected representatives "so called public servants" are really representing the people or are they selling them out to the highest bidder? Then ask why we can't be organized to get the dim light bulbs out of office? frank solutions

  • Yeah, he's just an old fart. 10% alcohol obviously doesn't result with 10% loss of mileage because alcohol still contains 66% energy. Oh yeah, then there's the issue of octane boosters and oxygenates which need to be added to straight-cut gasoline anyways.

    He's old. Please die.

  • If you lost 10% milage, then something is wrong with your car dude.

  • You don't know shit about ethanol and i think you should do your homework before running off with your mouth.

  • What is wrong with bio-fuel? It is better then normal petrol, your car just doesn't work very well with it. And dont say "oh there is nothing wrong with the car" because clearly there is. I put some E85 in my car once and it worked fine. I didn't get a 85% drop in milage infact my milage increased because I could advance the ignition slightly and lean the mixture out a bit with no loss of power and no problems at all.

  • "probably less than 10% in the tank would be just fine" HUH? WHAT? Where did this statistic come from? Old guy making up shit? Really? REALLY?

    GET YOUR SHIT STRAIGHT BITCH.

  • "corn on the cob once and a while" OH WHAT BULLSHIT FROM THIS ZOMBIE.

  • Absolute bollocks, you dont loose 10% efficiency from having 10% biofuel in the car, his car is probably knackered or he is spreading bullshit. B10 burns cooler and therefore more efficiently, he may have to just adjust the timing or stop driving with a heavy foot.
