Tours of the new infantry museum are given by a Vietnam Vet named Phil Smith who earned two purple hearts and who volunteers his time so folks can see how troops lived at Fort Benning over the years. My Dad, a Korean War Vet, loved the walk down memory lane, as Phil did a superb job of narration and putting one in the moment. If you ever visit Fort Benning, a visit to this museum is not to be missed.
@reddevilparatrooper The visit is well worth it and the Infantry museum is great

I went through basic training in the WW2 barracks they have on display in 1986 at Harmony Church . Wow ! I feel old now . One day I have to go back and visit Ft.Benning where I began as a 17 year old Infantry recruit . I want to visit the Airborne School where I earned my Jump Wings and the Infantry Museum while I was there .

@trifector1 I think those wings will never be missing from his uniform again after Phil's words of advice!
