Workers at the American University in Cairo demonstrate over low wage. The demonstration was lead by AUC students in a rare joint show of solidarity between social classes in Egypt. The workers were promised 1250 LE per month then they were fooled and accepted 600 LE, only to realize that they some of them only got paid 450 LE on that day October 27th. This comes in a series of strikes and demonstrations that have been sweeping through Egypt lately. On campus student publication The Independent was the one that voiced the concerns of the works since the start of the semester. AUC administration contracted the workers through a 3rd party, not being the direct employer of these employees. Chants near the end of the video say 'Aizeen ho'o'na' or We want our rights.
