Władysław OCHRYMOWICZ - Polish bariton, popular in the turn of 1920/30. Later, he emigrated to the US where he worked for the Polish broadcast in New York City. In 1963, shortly before his death, he returned to Poland. Another song of his at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_fajSnc3EA

Kazimierz OBERFELD: Polish composer, born in Łódź in 1903. He studied piano and composition in Łódź and in Paris. In 1925 he published (at his own expense) his first works, that made him better known among the musical circles of Paris. Soon, he was recommended by the editor of "Lucien Brule Editions" to the Association of French Composers and in 1921 he received French citizenship. He published songs under the name Casimir Georges Oberfeld or, in a French version: Georges Grandchamp. He composed for Folies Bergere, Casino de Paris and for the film. His songs were included into the repertoire of Josephine Baker, Lucienne Boyer, Mistinguett and via France, were immediately imported in Poland as international hits. He often visited Warsaw, always with new compositions he donated to the operetta theatres or cabarets, e.g. the charleston "Ma femme danse la charleston" (Moja żona tańczy charlestona), the foxtrots "Bijoux" (Klejnoty), "Je fais ca nonchalemment" (Ja to robię z nonszalancją) and dozens of another two-steps, shimmies, charlestons etc. After attack of the German army on France in 1940, he found himself in Marseille, which belonged to the unoccupied zone. His attempts to emigrate to the US failed. As a Jew he was denounced and deported to Auschwitz, where he was murdered in January 1945 a few months before the end of war.

ATTENTION: In the slideshow are two wonderful automobile-paintings signed by me "Jacek Malczewski". It is a mistake! Jacek Malczewski was a great Cracow artist of the Art Nouveau era, and these two haunting portraits of the racing cars in Zakopane are, of course, painted 30 years later by his son - Rafał!!!
