First Person View through my Trijicon Compact ACOG TA44-5 (1.5x16 w/ Amber 6 MOA Dot). It's a very compact and lightweight scope, similar to a RDS.

See it in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34PMkWwrB78

"Trijicon lives up to military standards with the Compact ACOG. Let's get specific, there is a right scope for each weapon and Trijicon covers the bases on high discrimination target acquisition with the Compact ACOG series. There are four basic models to choose from - 1.5x16, 1.5x24, 2x20, and 3x24. This provides a variety of lower magnification choices suited to two-eye-open, close quarters combat.

The Compact ACOG exterior is made of extremely light weight aircraft aluminum which has been hard anodized to match the upper and lower receiver of the M-16. Waterproof to Navy Seals standards, all adjustments are internal by moving the prism housing. Trijicon's Compact ACOG has an illuminated reticle, powered by advanced fiber optics and a tritium lamp for 24 hour illumination - even in total darkness. Believe it, it's all here - precision optics, light weight & durable, and the technology of an illuminated reticle. Of course, as with all Trijicon products, this is all accomplished with the combination of daylight collecting fiber optics and tritium lamps - NO BATTERIES."

  • thankyou.

looks red but it's amber. maybe because my camera sucks and I was indoor

  • @Frens03

    Oh...interesting.

I just picked up this exact same ACOG myself. It's pretty slick.

I even have that same mount you have - the American Defense AD-B2...which is great too.

One thing though - I wish the mount raised the optic just a TINY bit more. As I see it right now, it puts it at a perfect co-witness with the iron sights. I wish it was just a bit higher - closer to a 1/3 co-witness. I know Trijicon makes a mount that will set it higher...but that thing is big and heavy...

  • @johnnycabot did mount it on a carbine or a rifle? I have mine on a carbine and the FSB is not an issue at all when aiming with both eyes open a focus on the target (not the reticle).

    enjoy your new Acog!

  • @Frens03 It's on a carbine with a FSB, which is not an issue per se. Yes, it is visible but out of focus. I was simply referring to the height of the center line of the ACOG - as a matter of comfort. As it is now, I can get my eye down to the optic "OK" - but I'd be more comfortable if it was a tiny bit higher. I think my ideal height is between a perfect (or 1/2) co-witness and a lower 1/3 co-witness with the iron. I might try the LaRue LT-105 mount - if I can find a good deal on one.

  • @johnnycabot got it. I think (but I'm not sure) the factory TA60 mount is the highest available. As for the LaRue mount check ar15.com...there're always good deals there ;)

  • LOL...nice.

    Awesome music.

However, although I was not an art major or anything, I'm pretty sure that dot is RED not AMBER....at least it looks that way in the video.
