This video is a tribute to one of my favorite Natalie Wood movies & it's called "This Property Is Condemned."

Natalie stars with Robert Redford in this movie based on a Tennessee Williams play about a railroad official(Redford) who comes to Dodson Mississippi to fire the men working for the railroad which is the town's main income so naturally when people find out why he's there he becomes a very unwelcome visitor & is attacked by the men in retaliation. Alva Starr(Natalie Wood) is the town flirt with stars in her eyes & when she meets Owen she falls in love but her mother doesn't approve of their relationship & causes them to break up & when Owen goes to New orleans without Alva she is heartbroken & angry so in a drunken rage she marries J.J. but Alva is determined to be with him so she joins him & all is well until Alva's mother visits & tells Owen about Alva's marriage to J.J. & about her robbing him..Alva is so distressed that she runs away in the rain & contracts Pnemonia & sadly dies.

In the scene where Natalie is drunk she actually got drunk for that scene & I think it just shows what a good actress she is.
If you would like to see this movie it is in my playlist so feel free to check it out.
Feel free to comment. God Bless!!

  • Catherine Zeta-Jones is a pretty woman but IMO Natalie Goddess Wood was definitely in a league of her own.

  • @mensahcarrelle I agree with you about that. Natalie was stunningly beautiful inside & out..she was very special & she was one of a kind.

  • you did a beautiful job on this...))

  • did you see jessica walter as t he nutcase in PLAY MISTY FOR ME opposite clint eastwood?

study her role and ask yourself one question:

could catherine zeeta jones play this role?

in fact, could ANY OTHER ACTRESS have played it so well?

  • @cynthiacher I TOTALLY AGREE. I WISH I COULD IN THERE. IN THOSE DAYS. NATILE HAS GOT TO BE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN IN THE WORLD ' THEN AND NOW. NOBODY COMPARES TO HER CHARM AND WIT AND BEAUTY

  • Loved this movie, I just watched it for the very first time on NetFlix after reading about it in a new Biography about Robert Redford.

  • I think the final scene of this movie is one of the most haunting screen images I've ever seen. A dirty, bedraggled young girl, dressed in the ragged remains of her dead sister's finery, alone, homeless (I don't call living in an abandoned, condemned building a home) singing an absurdly cheery song while walking along the abandoned railroad tracks. The camera pans back, giving the viewer a wide view of the sad, filthy, empty railroad yard. One of the saddest endings I've ever seen in a movie.

  • @myrna2381 Well yes, that's true. But I really liked it. It's very underrated and it contains one of Natalie Wood's best performances. She was SO beautiful in this!

  • Hands down, the most beautiful women ever!

  • That was one of the most depressing movies ever.

  • Love this movie and loved this song. I sang it to my daughter when she was a baby and it always calmed her and put her to sleep. I changed the words a bit so it was just for her. "wish me a rainbow, wish me a star. A wish you can wish me wherever you are. Tears for my pillow and stars for my eyes. I love you little Jeana, kiss, kiss night, night." She's 17 now and still remembers it.

  • I loved this movie. As a matter of fact, my first date with my very first boyfriend was spent at a drive-in watching it. It was chocked full of stars, Natalie Wood, Robert Redford, Charles Bronson, Robert Blake, just to name a few. I thought Natalie was beautiful even before her WSS days. RIP, Natalie.
