Kudos to Chan Luu of Sundance Catalog fame who made this "lattice" all the rage. Weʼve decided to create our own unique designs when teaching how to master this technique.Itʼs straightforward to learn but it is definitely an intermediate project; you need some patience, beads and the right materials. We have added our silk wrapping technique to lend it finesse, but you can certainly stick with the simple knotted button and loop as we have shown in Part Two of Learn to Ladder. Be sure to watch from start to finish before you begin. Notice how Nicole begins and ends by wrapping the thread around the cord twice to create a "sacred" triangle. This insures there is distance between beads and knots. Without that space, we believe the lifetime of your bracelet can be shortened. Enjoy!

  • Hi Sevetra36,

Yes, you can use thin leather cord. I would not recommend trying to use much thinner than 1mm to start with. Once you get the hang of the technique, then try thinner. One of the reasons why I love this technique so much is becuase it is fun to experiment with different framing materials and beads!

  • You are a wonderful teacher!! I really like your slow pace and showing every step, not just saying do this on the other side and then not showing how to again. I really love your wrap style much more than I am doing with going through the beads one at a time. Great Job. I am subscribing to your You Tube site and hope to see more of you!!! Pat

  • Thank you for this video. I have made three totally different looking bracelets using your technique. It is nice that you don't rush.

  • Really Nice Work !!!

  • What size nymo thread is best for something like this?

  • DollFacedDiva: Those look like fire-polished faceted rounds in a metallic colour. Maybe 6mm size. Try checking by "fire polished" or "faceted rounds".
