Here's a clip of me flying in the wind without weight of the on-board cam. This little quad can handle a surprising amount of wind. It's much better in the wind than, say, my hopped-up mSR, but not as good as my mCP X. The lack of collective pitch sometimes makes it challenging to counter the effects of translational lift. Nevertheless - it's a fun little bird even in a mild breeze.
@mattamiller,
I think the mQX would be a good choice as a first rotor-craft. However - if you don't have any RC experience at all, I suggest that you first spend some time on a decent sim - such as RealFlight or Phoenix.

@mattamiller,
Hard to say, given the lack of details. How much fixed-wing experience do you have?

Should I get this or a regular heli as my first chopper?

@mike187ism,
Glad you're having fun with the bird! I'm definitely loving this little quad! The metal foil sounds like a great idea. Thanks for the tip!
