The Leopard is the smallest of the four roaring cats; the other three being, the Tiger, Lion and Jaguar.
It was believed that a Leopard was a hybrid of a lion and a panther. It's name comes from the Greek, "Leon", meaning, "Lion" and "Perdos", meaning, "Male Panther".
It is found primarily in sub-Saharan Africa, although populations are scattered throughout Asia & India as well.
Because of it's continual decline in population, the Leopard is considered a "Near Threatened" species.
The Leopard is very agile, and can run over 60 kilometres an hour, leap over 6 metres and jump up to 3 metres vertically.
Leopards are capable of carrying their prey, weighing up to 3 times their own weight, up a tree. Distributed by Tubemogul.
