  • PEACE BE ON YOU ALL!

Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad is genius. He is a muslim well known scholar. Undoubtedly one of the most influential Muslim thinkers alive today. He is a translator of Hadith, and teacher. Equally conversant in both traditional Islamic scholarship and Western thought and civilization. One of the mystifying capabilities of the human brain is embodied in the genius. He is genius and is an individual with astounding creative talents and distinguished mental abilities.

    GREAT JOB

  • I don't think this man get the appreciation he deserves, he is a true genius of our time and of the Muslim world.

"he is a true genius of our time"

How so? He says nothing worthwhile. He is simply asserting his god exists and bolsters that will all kind of fancy-sounding mumbo-jumbo. He is the Muslim equivalent of William Lane Craig

  • @bayreuth79 The difference between you and I is; you are open to the supernatural. I am not. Prayer does not fix toothache.

  • @bayreuth79 It is obvious . There is nothing supernatural. Nature is super enough. Is nature not enough for you? You want more than there is? What kind of 'spiritual materialism' are you involved in. Is this universe not enough for you that you need magic as well? Islam is mumbo jumbo all religions are, Islam slightly more so. There are no arguments for the supernatural, there is lots of rhetoric, but there is a desire for the comforting delusion it provides. The desire is the problem.

  • You assume that because people have put forward seemingly coherent arguments against Islam & the supernatural, that these arguments are really cogent. With respect, you forget that many intelligent and erudite people can put forward counter-arguments no less convincing. Personally, I think you can make a good cumulative argument for the existence of God certainly no less convincing than the atheist argument. Look at, Denys Turner, Swinburne, Keith Ward. All top academics...

  • The difference between you and I is that I can see the cogency of arguments on both sides of the atheist/theist divide. Things just aren't as obvious as you seem to suggest. You say that the onus is on me- that is reasonable enough-; but it seems to me that it is also on you as well, if you are going to deny the supernatural outright and allow no possibility for it whatsoever. Why not? What distinguishes you from an agnostic, who simply says he doesn't know? I need to know how you know...

  • @bayreuth79 Its all been done before by many, yes more erudite than me and probably you.

Try Ibn Warraq's WHY I AM NOT A MUSLIM for a start. Islam is based upon superstition and the supernatural. There is nothing supernatural. Clearly you believe there is. So you prove it to me, the onus is upon you not me. I don't believe in mumbo jumbo. Islam does not reflect reality. If only belief and truth were the same thing. But they are not. Tim is a priest in a large cult and has wasted his life.

  • If that is the case, demonstrate that what you claim is true. Most importantly of all, actually read and study before you make wild, unverifiable claims.

  • If you believe what you say it is your task to prove what you claim, but of course that would require an erudition that you lack. It is easy to make any number of unfounded assertions, but difficult to back up what you claim with cogent evidence. I think we both know that you cannot prove that Islam amounts to "mumbo jumbo" because if you could you would go into print and enlighten us all. Curiously as with many of your ilk, you are so convinced of your own opinions that evidence is superfluous

  • @bayreuth79 An inaccurate world view. Islam does not reflect reality.
