Don't think he was trying to, to be honest. If you look at the Udine performance close your eyes and you could imagine you're in 1978.

Show me one Rockin Roll artist from the 1970's that can sing like they use too...TODAY.
NOT ONE..but its still a powerful performance!
The magic of Springsteen is he can still take the audience lift them from their seats and send them into a state of Euphoria!
There is NO ONE other than Bruce that can still do that today!
