Good boy, always sharpen so the grooves made by the wheel follow the length of the electrode, this helps the electron flow and arc stability during welding. Also it helps strenghten the tip. If you are a welder try grinding it both ways and see the difference it makes during welding :)

@SweStuff94 Sorry mate, but we sharpen our tungsten electrodes at work using a normal belt sander.
What i would point out to alfametalsrl though, is you should ALWAYS sharpen the tip length ways, in other words, point the tip at the wheel. If you sharpen it across the wheel you will end up with a wandering arc.

What is this for? How does it weld if the tungsten doesn't melt during the welding process?

@KurtisWM Not if you aren't welding Aluminum. Those are perfect for welding carbon pipe and tubes..

bullshit thats tungsten of volfram in fact tungsten/volfram is allmost as hard as dimond and i dont think u can sharpend dimods like that...
