To download an mp3 file of the accompaniment, go to www.steveparkhornmusic.net. This is the beautiful slow movement from the Gliere Horn Concerto. Subscribe! I will be adding more solos on a regular basis. I teach horn at a University and my goal is to create a video library of some of the best horn solos for my students and others.

  • Well done steve!!! You are an inspiration,

  • Hi. I am trying to find a solo for my high school solo and ensemble competition. I can play most things handed to me. I was wandering if there is something that sounds really good that you would recommend me to play.

  • I would like to hear u play on a Conn..... Maybe an 8D..... That is what im making payments on right now. Please message me with the sheet music if possible. Or to Nocturno. Either one. And also what University you teach at. Thank you so much for your beautiful music.

  • SuperSteve, Dude the right horn for you, Holton is the best/beast, Schmid who:-)

  • Very nice performance Steve--- your talent is certainly showing throughout this chart... Good job!!

  • What a lovely performance of a beautiful piece. The contrast between the non-stopped notes and stopped notes at the end was fantastic.

  • This is beautiful and inspiring. Makes me think I should spend more time learning solo literature, instead of band & orchestra stuff. And, BTW, this really shows off what that gorgeous Merker can do with you driving it.

  • Ah Steve, just lovely. The transition from open to stopped at the end was truly masterful. Thanks for sharing.

  • @PianoKwanMan Thank you! I was just curious about vibrato in general for horn.

  • one word: AMAZING.
