The rain Gods have finally taken note of the plight of drought hit farmers from Bundelkhand. The current year has been particularly lucky for the region received more than average rainfall this year. Last five years of drought has pushed the agriculture into dismal state. Most families in the region have suffered from massive crop failures and livestock depletion. This gave birth to a number of other associated problems like indebtedness, maintenance and survival of cattle, health issues and exploitation of different social groups like women, children, dalits and tribals etc. people have been migrating to Delhi and Mumbai to save their lives. Rainfall is good news for the region however it will take sometime before crops get harvested and food grains be brought home.
