you're playing with fire! if any of those critters escape in your house, you'll never get rid of them. i have a springtail infestation right now for several weeks and i can't get rid of them. they're feeding on the same tap water you said would kill them. so how do i kill them?

@knchen Springtails do not infest houses. If they are exposed to low humidity, they die very, very quickly. Tap water quickly kills the species of springtails that we work with, as well. I'm assuming that you're experiencing an infestation of another organism, or a native form of springtail. They do not feed on water - they feed on decaying things - but they do seek out humidity.
