A good demonstration in model form! The way the car is pushed, ney, BULLDOZED down the track and then flicked aside is pretty much how it happens! Sad to say though that these kind of accidents still happen.
-
I like the black hopper at the end!
-
REALISM!

lol thats the funny thing bout model railroading. if you put a model car of the same scale on the tracks it goes flying. you put a model person of the same scale and the train derails.
-
it looks bigger than ho scale

As a railroad professional I just don't get it.
I can understand railfanning. I am a car nut and I love powerful mechanical devices stretched to the limit. So if you're a railroad fan and model it or photograph it or watch them I can get it.
But simulating tragedy? This is just baffling to me. And there are so many of these videos here.
It's both baffling and a tad disturbing.

Well I'm sorry if you are offended, but it must really disturb you to watch TV, many "tragedies" are depicted in a much more graphic fashion than this. This is simply a MODEL train hitting a MODEL car.... I find it baffling that this is so disturbing to you....NEVER watch CSI or anything like that.

I sad a 'tad' disturbing. Baffling is a btter word.
IC...I don't have to watch CSI. I'm a railroad supt. I see the real thing in a far more graphic faction as part of my job. Watching bodies or injured individuals pulled from the remains of their car is not something I have to watch on CSI.
True it is a model hitting a model. I respect the model builder as some of this work is a true art form.
I just don't get the recreation of such tragedies as a form of entertainment.

I guess I understand what your saying, I didn't look at it from that point of view. I had seen it done before on youtube, so I thought it would be interesting to try it a couple times. It wasn't meant to be a depiction of death, just a plastic on plastic collision.

ahh. You were just having fun.
Railroading is serious business to me and just because I don't understand the video doesn't make it wrong.
I apologize for over-reacting.

No problem, and I also have to apologize for sounding like a major smart ass at the beginning.
