Sending tooth brushes and playing cards definitely helps to ease the trials of warfare, but might we do something else to show our support for our soldiers?

How about ending Stop Loss practices, using some of those billions and billions of endless dollars funneled to no-bid corporate contractors for increasing pay and pensions for our soldiers and modernizing and providing medical care for the tens of thousands of injured, maimed and psychologically tortured vets?

How about putting an end to allowing incompetent liars, cheats, thieves and cowards to force wars and invasions down our throats while ignoring Constitutional principals and laws?

How about ending the use of torture, no matter what name you give it? How about making America a symbol of freedom and responsibility not arrogance and lawlessness.

  • Sure it's in the contract, actually on several pages that a soldier will see in his enlistment process, but that's not the point devilsfurry. The point is, a human being is not programmed to endure a combat zone deployment for extended periods of times. And soldiers are humans too. They have psychological needs just like the rest of us. Treating them to extended deployments is treating them wrong, no matter what they did or didn't agree to in writing.

  • The biggest problem is those people brought up on stop-loss deploy absolutely. There are certain people in the military that have never seen a deployment but most of those brought up on stop loss are on there third or fourth rotation. If you are brought up on stop loss I think you should relieve the person who has never deployed and enjoy there stay-on-base job for a year and they should go. That is why stop-loss sucks, because you are called back to the most dangerous of assignments.

  • search "Hot Cash -SSG Grigley's Rap" a video I made with SSG Grigley's approval just a greeting he did while on deployment

  • FrankSter: You are telling it like it is...THANKS !!!

  • Frank, you are awesome!

I'm a Soldier with over 20 years and two combat tours, still serving. Thank you for actually caring about my Soldiers enough to bring up these issues. The Republicans are total backstabbing hypocrites. Stop Loss is being used to fill shortages of personnel without having to resort to paying retention bonuses; these same Rs also vote AGAINST our benefits and pay raises. They send the money to their cronies at Haliburton/KBR instead.

  • Im well I was a Republican tell I figured out that the party is made up of most greedy *holes that care less weather you have a job and a place to live all they care about is themselves. If you end up homeless they dont have to worry about your vote because people that are homeless cant vote. I have 8 ½ years in construction but no one well hire me because Jose AKA. Peter got my job even thought peter cant speak a word of English.

  • In my opinion, the Republican Party is the antithesis of King Midas, everything that it handles turns to ashes.

  • The most searing image of an american veteran is an individual approaching 50, legless and homeless, and pushing himself along on a "casterboard" as he begs.

Watch for this image to become commonplace in the near future and consider it carefully as you contemplate "serving".

  • I recently got out of the army and had a very close call with stop-loss. I'm glad to see that at least one person who doesn't pussy-foot around the issue. And also fuck those little yellow ribbons, it's meaning has been almost completely lost. Good point on the media coverage. I wasn't around during the vietnam war, but the news coverage you can find on the web certainly painted a far more realistic view of that war.Today if it's mentioned at all its usually watered down for public consumption.

  • 100% true but if you say the war is false, how are you supporting the troops over there? That makes no sense. My Unlce has been there 4 times? This said from a future Marine.

  • Go Frankie!! Our soldiers are over there fighting this false war and so many Americans are over here complaining about how hard they have it while our men on going on tour after tour. It's rediculous.

  • Stop loss happened to me. Fuck that shit. Congress can send their kids to Iraq. Fuck them as well.
