I haven't really seen anyone use this in they're animations, and i felt it was something rather crucial to get nice realistic animations.

Learning how to do Vector Blur with composite nodes. REALLY EASY!

I have a website now!!!
check it out at http://www.mysticduder.com

and also, here's a link to the animation i did with vector blur:

again, feel free to suggest any tutorial ideas, or questions you may have! and i'll try to get back to you as soon as i can!

  • Thanx, this will really help with my new game i am developing.

  • I don't think the composite nodes work for game engine. I think its Blender Internal specific. :/

I would double check that to make sure!

  • da proxima vez sai da caxa de papelao pra fazer tutorial

    HARDSTYLE KING SHUFFLER

  • Dude this helps a lot, now I don't have to wait years for Motion Blur Calculation. Keep up the good work!

  • thank alot my entire render screen kept going completely black until i reffered to your tutorial. ( didn't know you hit vect. button in render layers ) anways you get 5 stars from me

  • in that case then I would use it for sniper zoom or when you've been hit (like tunnel vision, except the edges aren't black)

    Should be easy to make:

Just an alpha map with blurred transparent edges going nearly to the center.

  • Yes - i am making an fps

  • um just realised I was talking about a completely different thing, lol.

But yeh what I meant had nothing to do with vector blur/motion blur

I meant like in fps games when your sniping you see some areas are blurred slightly...

I don't know what game your makingbut say if it where an ranger then the camera may go into first person and blurr the edges out leaving the player focused on the center.

  • What do you mean?

  • mc bain- you could do it via scripting...

it would not be a real vector blur but more of an blurred transparency image...

I would set it as a screen flash

  • there is a way to activate it......... but i dont know how. I am thinking twice on using it anyway.

  • Yea, now that i have tried, i dont think it does work in the GE
