Most of the Equipment used in Ed's Brewery is made from "Recycled Parts And Materials. An old Beer keg, A 50 gal Water heater, The burner, from an old Commerical deep fryer[approx 250,000 BTU] a lawn sprinkler....Etc.... And the Loving care that Ed puts into the process that produces the Best Beer I have ever had.! 56 Batches in 17 yrs

his method is not very efficient he only got 60% could easily had 75%+ with his equipment and just some better temp/sparge control he would have hit 7.1%
there are two types of fermentation. Aerobic and anaerobic. The first involves the cellular division of the yeast. Once all of the oxygen is gone, yeast will start to eat the sugar. I usually just shake to hell out of my carboys to aerate them, I have seen others connect something to a drill and stir it that way. Eds way is the most ideal way to aerate your wort but can cost a bit. Noticing the Porsche in the garage, im sure he isnt worried about it ;-) Great series on all grain brewing!
