This is the LESSER KNOWN VERSION. Judy is funny, more casual, & very expressive. She performed this song a few times on The Judy Garland Show.
The 'Poppy Dress' version, as I call it, is posted on Youtube. Watch that one, too! The contrasts are fascinating. You'll see the difference in style & overall performance ...

  • Shere bloody genius.

  • This version is great because she had JUST finished singing the very emotional song, "A Cottage For Sale." It's amazing how she can just launch into something so peppy and upbeat after pouring her heart out into a totally different song.

  • Judy is on fine form here; confident. She fills the screen with energy and a kind of 'electricity' that seems to reach out to her audience. Fully in control, even when flubbing, as she recovers brilliantly.

  • Judy could build a song to a fabalous climax unlike any other...looks sensational, moves magically & sounding supremely in control, this stunning performance is what the Legend of Judy Garland is all about...sheer genius!!!

  • Yea this definitely isn't the lesser known version....I even have the actual script to show 21 and forgot she sings it there...this is the version that everybody loves!!

  • adorable!

    love the outfit

  • This clip, in particular, shows Judy's appeal as a live entertainer, demonstrating what Mickey Rooney called her "spontaneous thing" that was so special.

  • Hilarious and brilliant! When she flubs the line and says "Oh boy" under her breath and presses on anyway- the woman was one of a kind.

  • She absolutely is!

  • Yes, OTRNut !....

I prefer this post to the other more formally clad version of "Hey Look Me Over" ,...what's even more entertaining, is that after Judy 'flubs' a lyric she then continues with an improvised and ironically comical one of her own, " ....and just in case you think I'll Goof!". I believe the other lyric was "...and just in case you need more proof.."

Michele, I am constantly enjoying your contributions to YouTube.

    Thanks very much.
