  • For some perspective on the guy w'/the green shirt: He moves out of the way @1:36. The train reaches his position @1:49., 13 seconds later. That's a long distance. For comparison, the train passes under the camera @ 2:07. Back up the vid 13 seconds to 1:54 and you will understand why the guy in the green shirt isn't quite as insane as he appears when veiwing him thru a "zoomed" telephoto lens.

  • Like you haven't your self stood on a railroad to take pictures. Think before you say soming you will regret .

  • Nice job!!! it was funny when it started puffing black smoke right when it caught up 2 u.

  • This is a classic... Like a professional camera op you held your position well done and a sincere thank you

  • The people are to close to the tracks! Thats why they don't run any steam! Those guys need to stay back a little

  • Nice harley that stopped near ya!

  • @Conrail6370 Yeah, you wouldn't want to say soming wrong!!!

  • Ahhh! The good old smoke in da face shot!

  • Nice zoom! I was wondering what we would see after the smoke cleared.

  • damn everyone got to see this enine running but me I was on Amtrak going west on the Empire Builder and the damn BNSF dispacher decided to hold them outside of Havre Montana thus makeing us on the Amtrak miss there arrival into Havre and we passed them at track speed and I wasnt able to get a shot from the Amtrak train window we were to close to each other passing all I saw was the orange go by I was so mad at that damn dispacher

  • Good point. The telephoto lense condenses the linear distance to create the illusion that objects are much closer together than they actually are.
