I am friends with a very diffficult lady who is critical of everrything and who used to know Julia Child, amongst all kinds of other really famous people. She rolls her eyes at plenty, tears a new one for quite a few, but when I asked her about Julia C. she got very serious and said, "She was incredible, like no one else. She had a brilliant mind. There will never be another like her."

My husband's PR person was Mrs. Child's PR person at the time of her death and he says the same glowing things about her that your friend does.
