@WisiG Emperor Franz Josef of Austria had invited Wilhelm II of Germany over to Vienna, J. Strauss was to present his new waltz which originally went by another name, but it was suggested to him that he should name it Kaiserwalzer, so it could refer to either of the Kaisers (Franz Josef / Wilhelm II), flattering both, alienating neither of them. The Kaiserwalzer, when played properly (unlike that vid) is indeed glorious and imperial.

@Augustus077 Germany?

If anything, then too slow. This is the Kaiserwalzer, not the chamber maids waltz.
-
I agree. Too fast. Strange that...from Pretre...

@forgotmyoldlogins If you need a piece like this one to be played THIS FAST to remain bound, well then you really can't appreciate the beauty of it. The Kaiser walzer was meant to embody the glory and magnificence of the Imperial Courts of Austria and Germany, it needs to be slower for that purpose.
