A Family Saga of the Privileged Class and the Price of Keeping Their Good Name:
Author J.R. LaGreca pens an intriguing novel of how jealousy becomes the catalyst for tragedy and a life changing perspective

The wealthy Reginald and Hannah Wellington set their opulent yard with Great Gatsby grandeur in Great Neck, Long Island for the Engagement Party of their daughter Margo to Stephan Randall. This joyous event takes a disastrous twist when Margos Cousin Walter brings his beautiful Cousin Chloe. Jealousy brews when Stephan becomes charmed by Chloe and they talk incessantly throughout dinner. Margo becomes enraged when she spies Chloe give Stephan her card — which he discreetly slips inside his suit jacket.

When confronted, Stephan insists it was for him to make dinner reservations for them at The Wexley — the supper club where Chloe sings. During a heated argument the inebriated Stephan storms off in the middle of their engagement party, and Margo is rushed to the hospital for a twisted ankle from wearing stilettos on the lawn.

As a result an accident leads to a tragedy that catapults in unexpected ways. Who is to blame when words become weapons unknowingly? Will old money be able to mask the truth?

The Gloaming is a time of light and darkness, mixed with shades of deception and raw truth. Through a life changing circumstance Margo ends up breaking bread with the poor, while Chloe ends up rising above her underprivileged roots and hobnobbing with the wealthy, only to find their hearts have equalized them. The two women meet in the middle and bond as their reverse worlds shed light on the importance of friendship.
