There are 3 things you need to know about dental insurance. First, dental insurance is an excellent financial tool that tends to be better for helping people cover basic care, yet if you need an extensive amount of work done, your coverage will likely be limited. It usually pays very well for teeth cleanings, x-rays, check-ups and exams. If you contrast that with a health insurance plan, you will see that you have a small fee that you pay for basic care, such as a deductible or co-pay, but you have major coverage for big surgeries or hospital stays. So dental insurance and health insurance are really opposites on how they work.

2. Dental insurance will help you to complete a certain amount of treatment per year by them paying a maximum of $1000 to $2000 per year. This is considered to be a use it or lose it benefit, which means that it does not carry over from year to year, even if you didnt have any work done. Our goal is to always help you minimize the expenses out of your own pocket. This can be done by understanding how dental plans work, which our administrators do, by making a comprehensive plan for your care and by helping you to understand the priorities. We will work with you on all of this to help maximize your benefits.

3. The last thing you need to know about dental insurance is that when you work with a dental office that is IN your insurance plan network, all dental offices are contracted to the same fees. This is a big benefit to our patients because it allows Delta Dental and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas customers to have the signature service and top-notch technology of New Horizons at a discounted price. Our administrative team members are always available to help you with any questions you may have and to structure your care in a way that is most cost effective to you.
