NOTE!!! heres some good advice few people seem to know for some reason, if the lettering on any web page or forum or blog or even this youtube page is to small for you to read , to enlarge it simply hold down the CNTRL key while repeatedly hitting the + key , this will make lettering larger, to make it smaller hit the - key repeatedly. pass the word around to those who think they need to buy a larger screen !!!!

Here is a link to a recent Oxford university study showing children are born with a natural belief in God, not atheism. If a child is born on an island with no one to teach them about God they will still
develop a belief in God.

free audio web page in the grey box to right

of video, just click blue more to see it.

  • Thanks for uploading the video series. You truely are an outpost. I took philosophy in college and hated it- a waste of time to contemplate questions without answers. Only when God is included did playing with the meaning of life become much more interesting.

How empty the world is without Him.

    Love that Salt & Light

  • Amen Mare I know what you mean I first learned about philosophy through christians at age 12 (about 28 years ago) and I instantly saw how valuable it was for finding truth and distingusing bad philosophy of men col 2:8, then i went to college and had a secular philosophy proffesor who bored me out of my mind, I got down on my knees and thanked God, that this secular man or any other secularist was not the one to introduce me to this wonderfull subject.

  • Note : I just put a link to the Free audio archive at peter kreefts web page , In the grey ABOUT THIS VIDEO box to the right of video , just click the blue MORE button then click on PETERKREEFT(DOT)COM , the talks are free just click and listen.

  • Why do you need tons of words to explain the impossible ??

  • are you asking Kreeft about this video ? or

    God about a 1200 page bible ?

  • Thank you for the uploads, I have a lot to think about now.

  • This is an awesome series -- I liked it very much.

    Thank you for posting!

  • I didn't find his answer satisfying either.

However, the implication of the question was that there may be some degree of suffering that somehow disproves God's factual appearance and activities, but the person who asked the question failed to provide any evidence that that particular implication follows from the mere existence of suffering, no matter how intense that suffering may be.

There is no logical maxim ever stated that somehow prevents God and suffering from existing simultaneously.

  • "behold I make all things new" is an answer his mother needed to understand his suffering. Scripture does not record him saying it at that time, but it is recorded in Revelation 21. God will be glorified by all when the child is made anew and all will rejoice like Paul that they were counted worthy to suffer for Christ.

  • All innocent suffering cries to heaven. Calvary is not a static act of sacrifice, as passive as that seems to passersby..both at the historic Calvary and the one that people confront throughout time. Christ is also God of history. There are many people who suffer who could bare that pain--even with joy--if they joined it to the suffering love of the person of Christ. Christ suffers in, with(!) and for His people & is present in their suffering throughout history. You might study Mother Teresa.

  • Could someone help clarify his answer to the suffering child question for me.

I simply did not understand what he was attempting to get across.

  • hey gives a great view on the subject but there are also arguments that are very strong in my point of view.

  • p.s. please forgive the brief typo...

  • tonytigers4: NewsFlash...The Modern Scholar lecture series has a 2009(!) title by Peter Kreeft, Boston College, which is entitled: "The Philosophy of Aquinas." Also, you might wish to check out and listen to may free internet listening hours by Kreeft at peterkreeft [dot] com/audio.htm For a grin, note his breif response to the following at the bottom of the above-cited page:

Q: If Christianity is intellectual, why aren't more academics Christians?

A: Kreeft. "Because academics are not...."

  • That's true :)
