These interviews are utterly compelling. What comes through is that Jason Beghe does not have an ax to grind. Yes, he regrets having wasted so much time, money and emotion, but he does not come off as bitter. On the contrary, his overall tone is one of respect for Scientologists, and sympathy for their futile mission. He does not dehumanize them as so many critics have. His measured tone and honesty cannot bode well for the religion.
