  • Like salve to my soul-- nothing like Mommy Maybelle. What a treasure this lady was-- truly what soulful, aching, mountain and Scottish highland music is supposed to sound like.

  • She was just great!. ~ Robert

  • Great *******

  • Peter Rowan did a version of this song on The Prairie Home Companion (almost for sure inspired by this awesome rendition)...it was in 2-3 part harmony with twelve strings and equaled this one as closely as possible; she would have loved it; someone please find and up load it

  • @maddwillard Please. Traditional country people are delighted to share our common heritage. If I can hit the Apollo on amateur night you can make a country or bluegrass show, whowever you are.

  • the Irish version of this song is called A Bunch of Thyme. the melody is originally gaelic. erin go bragh!

  • @captainsmith1 this song is from southern England not the Scottish highlands

  • i love bluegrass this shit is fire i would go check it out live in concert but i might get lynched.

  • Purity, purity, purity.
