I saw Tanya in a small town bar in Oregon. It had to be 1973 or so because I was out of the service; I thought at that time she was too good to be in this sort of place. I do know that she was too young to be in there because she had a chaperone that watched her like a hawk, and no autographs were given.

This is an awesome Song classic !!

I love the sound of the album scratches too.

Her name is Tanya all right, and no voice sounds quite like hers. In her day, you knew who was who--who was Tanya, Reba McEntire, etc. now, nobody sounds unique. I don't even mind the scratch of the LP--a record won't sound like that unless it's been played a few thousand times, and only somebody who appreciates good music would play it that often. Wish Jessie's studio version was on youtube.

This is a nice cover by Tanya. Jessie Coulter's version the original version is brilliant as well. I love this song. Thanks for the post.
