This is MIn Pin / Chihuahua pups with "Kennel Cough". These "pups" belong to my brother's momma dog. His dogs got out and were gone for about a week and a half. I had to feed the pups til we found the father and mother dogs. When they were found at the SPCA. Well while the dogs were there they caught "Kennel Cough". The mother's milk dried up and well I ended up taking the pups home with me. I thought it would help that way the pups wouldn't catch the cough too. But I didn't know all the facts about the "Kennel Cough". They caught it ,So I took them to the vet and well the Vet said that there isn't much more they can do. Just give them the antibiotic and the cough medicine will help relieve the pain. Til then it's all about the wait. I made this so that others can see what happens to the smaller tiny ones. I noticed no one had anything on You tube dealing with the smaller pups. So I thought I should put this up so others can see what to look for in the tiny ones. These are 1 month old also. Still nurse from a human baby bottle but will lap from a bowl. The bottles are easier for them to drink from.

Edited for Update: So far the little brown one has passed. Her little heart couldn't take it and she passed this morning. He is still going and has gotten much much better . He is walking around and eats on his own with no help. The Vet was very impressed with how the puppies were doing so far. But that was yesterday. I was given antibiotic and was told NOT to use the cough medicine because it keeps them From coughing up the mucus that causes Pneumonia. I had to add Karo Syrup to the Goats milk. I was also told of a paste called Nutra-Cal (not sure if spelled right) it comes in a paste . I added distilled water to the milk and shook it then heated it. I also will take them into the bathroom after I had the shower on full hot so it would steam the bathroom . That was a substitute for a humidifier the Vet told me he agrees with my methods and was very very Impressed. I will keep you posted on the male pup's health. But as far as I can tell the female died cause of heart failure due to the stress she was putting on her tiny heart from holding her breath . She would hold her breath to keep from hurting from her throat being so sorry. Thats how bad they have it. She wouldn't eat so I would squirt a tiny amount onto her tongue til I thought her belly looked full. or she would pull away. Well I do hope that this video help you to understand this disease and also to help in the health of your own pet. (ohh and the Vet also told me that it was ok to use a human form of antibiotic but for smaller ones like these he said only use it if you really need to because some cases don't need it. But these were that bad off..if you even have adult pill form of antibiotic crush them up or whatever to make it a paste and then put a quarter of a teaspoon and then half that into and place it into their milk or food every 12 hours.) But please use the things that your pets Vet tells you too . I only am telling what I have used for help in like down right needed reasons. Listen to a Vet THEY know what to do THEY have gone to school for this stuff.

  • I had a pup I found on the streets and she had kennel cough unfortunately she died two days later :( I'm sorry for your puppy they were adorable

  • @extremeenigmaforever Yes they are cuties even though the female passed away. She made a difference by way of this video. It has helped so many. I get emails all the time about this video and how it helped someone know what to look for or even how to help them when it is a very small puppy even a almost newborn. The chances of a newborn making it through KC is very low and the vet was very very happy with me and how I was able to defeat the odds.

  • This is Edna with Nutro/Greenies.

  • @wildtexspirit my pup is 11 weeks old. is it dangerous

  • @wildtexspirit He's totally back to normal. To confirm blastomycosis diagnosis was necessary an urine test. Then the vet prescribed Fluconazole, which didn't work very well because the fungus was well spread, then changed to Itraconazole which worked. Treatment is long (6 months) and expensive, the medication for 2 weeks at Walgreens cost US$250, but then the Vet got it through a compound pharmacy at $98 for 3 months. Was a relief. It's all gone now, he's back to his old happy boy again.

  • I'm so sorry for your loss :'(

it's so sad. but that sweet little puppy is in heaven now.

God bless Cinni, and I wish you well in this hard time.

I don't know what I'd do without my Pogo.

  • @QueenOfBaginthia Yes Buster is but the female which is the dark brown one she passed away. She couldn't breath and I lost her in my hand trying to reviver her.

  • @xuxsoadman I am soooo sorry to get back to you so late. I do hope they are okay. But for advice when it comes to keeping the KC away from the other animals be sure to keep the infected animal away and be sure to keep the animal infected in a place that only THAT animal will be in and you. also make sure you change clothes before playing or doing anything around another animal. The infection is carried on everything it comes contact with.

  • @Redygo37 thats good to hear that she is all better. ^.^
