Looking back on my association with a classic motor scooter. It wasn't a great scooter but it was fun! To set the record straight I kept the Piatti for two years. It was actually 1959 when I traded the Piatti in for a DKR Defiant. Eventually that was replaced by a Dayton Albatross. I also restored one of those and it can be seen with the Piatti in some of the photos. ( I have used youtube's own audio backing track which I enjoy listening to, but I wish they wouldnt chop off the end of the music as they have done here before the video has ended!)

  • @myScooterchannel Memories get more precious as you get older!

  • Not the most atractive of scooters, but if it was reliable what the hell does it matter, living memories, nice one Mike.

  • @howarth004 It could well have benefitted by more development I fear, but the Mark 2 was anounced only weeks before the factory closed, having not made enough profit to keep it going.

  • Hi Michael, a wonderful design. This scooter was unknown to me until I saw your video. Thank you for your very interesting report!

  • @emmielie Its good to be able to keep such memories alive!

  • @robmasterman You have to be a certain type of person to be interested in such a machine as this!

  • That was a superb production Mike, very interesting facts, and re-emphasising the perfectionist you are...Bob

  • @WoelkerVideo Thanks! There were many better ones around in the 1950s but the Piatti has a certain special appeal to those of us who remember it!
