A simple easy way to make my version of a whole wheat doughnut, off grid style.
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
Pinch of salt
½ teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
3 tablespoons sugar or some kind of sweetener
1 egg fresh or powdered
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/3 cup milk fresh or powdered
2 tablespoons oil
Powder sugar to sprinkle
Add dry ingredients' in bowl and mix, then add wet ingredients' and make into dough
Roll out ½ inch thick and cut out doughnuts
Fry in a creased skillet 2-3 minutes per side or till done.
Place on plate with paper towel, sprinkle with powder sugar and enjoy.

  • tried these over the weekend - DELISH!! the kids had valentines candy left over so i melted some in a double boiler and drizzled it on top for them!! THANKS!!

  • @MsDKGirl Glad you liked it.

  • Thank you! I share your views on stocking up well. I've eliminated the phrases "we'll make do" and "if we're hungry enough we'll eat it" from my vocabulary. Now is the time to stock up on foods so that you don't have to make do or get hungry enough that you'll eat bark off of trees. Good job on the video!

  • @imstillworkin We have been on whole grains and our garden for quite a few years. It’s kind of funny, but the process stuff has really lost its appeal to us. Thanks for watching.

  • I love homemade donuts....I wish more people didn't think of food storage as limited. There is only a handful of us that use it on a daily basis. It comforts me to know that when we can't afford stuff my life won't be affected at all....I've already made the switch and you have too....still jealous of your stores though...working on your second year....jeesh!!

  • @bearlysceneranch Say nothing happens, what the worst you did? Learned how to eat healthy… and bought a year ahead on your groceries? I gladly take that…

  • thanks for the video, I sometimes wonder how many people store stuff and have never tried making any meals out of it.
