In 1958 critics called The Veil, "the greatest television series never seen." The Veil was never broadcast as a series due to problems in the studio. Some of the footage later ran on late night television in the late 1960's.
The show was directed by Hal Roach and hosted by Boris Karloff, who also played a role in each episode. The program was purported to be based on real-life cases of the supernatural and the unexplained.
In this episode, John Prescott is driving home to Boston when he encounters a beautiful young woman whose car has run out of gas. He offers her a ride and they stop for a drink; from that point on mystery surrounds his new lady friend. Mr. Prescott is in for a bumpy ride.
