NEW YORK (YouTube.com/AdAge) Hulu.com, a joint venture of NBC Universal and News Corp., was launched a week ago as the traditional television industry's answer to YouTube. The effort originally explored created a single video site for all the major networks but ABC and CBS declined to participate. However, Hulu does offer a broad range of programming content from NBC, Fox and more than four dozen other companies including Hollywood studios and cable networks. Appearing at Ad Age's Digital Marketing Conference this week, NBC president-CEO Jeff Zucker explained why NBC was determined to create its OWN Hulu video site rather than partner with YouTube.
