Through triumph and tragedy, hundreds of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers members have been part of NASAs space shuttle program for the past three decades. As NASA prepares to retire the countrys only manned space fleet by the end of the year, members of Cocoa Beach, Fla., Local 2088 look back on the missions they helped accomplish and reflect on the shuttle programs success.
Nice video. Shuttle should have ended a long time ago. Preferably after its 2nd or 3rd mission when the proved re-usability. They should have known after the those flights how totally unpractical and dangerous the Shuttle actually is. There was a lot of opportunity missed and Astronauts that never got to go to space because the cost of Shuttle was so outrageous and held back the US.

As an apprentice this both inspiring and heart wrenching, I can see the arguments on both sides and they both might have there points, but i just cant accept the privatization of space and the way nasa has been sold out as anything but an abomination

so this will be the last flight of this space shuttle untill retirement? they'll either take it to air space muzeum, or decommission this shuttle and scraped it.

Thank you to all of the IBEW members who worked so hard over the decades to help America lead the world into space.
