The US is far and away Canada's largest economic ally and trading partner; yet we avoided their recession almost entirely despite this. Yes, there was wavering here and there, but Canada's currency remained strong; its banks remained strong; and our news casts weren't taken over by people predicting the apocalypse.

All logic says the recession should have hit us hard, yet it didn't. (Despite our socialized healthcare lol)

The US should be taking notes, not attacking our policy. It's sad.

I agree. Sweden as well as most of Europe seems to be better organized and efficient. The populace is healthier and better educated as told by their stellar standings in the statistics tables. We would do well to copy their policies. Greetings from an American socialist.

The Republicans set the cops on certain reporters at the convention. Great American journalists like Amy Goodman were roughed up by police. Some of her colleagues were beaten. The Republicans wrap themselves in the flag at every opportunity, but betray everything that flag stands for--at every opportunity. They do NOT respect the Constitution or the American people. Why can't more people see this?

Nobody says an Asian country that is 100% Asian needs more diversity.

Nobody says an African country that is 100% Black needs more diversity. Anti-Whites claim “anti-racism” and demand diversity for White countries and ONLY White countries. They say it’s Africa for the Africans, Asia for the Asians, but White countries for EVERYBODY?

I hear that Sweden is a fantastic country in many areas, but there do exist a lot of troubling aspects regarding *true* socialist policy.

Thanks to fox 'news', a lot of Americans don't know what actual socialism is. Fox groups liberalism and liberal policy under the banner title in hopes of making the word synonymous with fear in over exerting government regulation.

Obama is actually much closer to Stephen Harper (Canadian conservative PM) in practice than he is to anything truly socialist.
