Dr. Whelan on Planet in Peril

I doubt Whelan wrote "Toxic Terror." I worked for her at ACSH and edited some of her writing. The quality of the book is far better than the writing I edited.

Whelan has always claimed that ACSH is not influenced by funders but the truth is otherwise. When I was there the organization was producing a booklet on alcohol and health. Stroh's Brewery participated in the writing and editing of that booklet, but this was uncredited.

I was told by ACSH's VP, Ed Remmers, that prior to my arrival an ACSH booklet on sugar and health was actually secretly printed in-house by the Hershey Company. Whelan told me directly that if the Professional Lawn Care Association of America didn't make a contribution to ACSH she would not publish a book promoting the safety of lawn care chemicals. I reported all of these things to the ACSH board of directors, but it did not respond privately or publicly.

I would love to hear Dr. Whelan talk about her book "Toxic Terror"....that is not how she talks in her book!
