I got one too a few years ago, I had to stop working for almost three months to get it closed correctly. I got a nurse that cleaned this almost everyday. That was really boring, because I got many difficulties to take a seat and I was adviced not to drive during this period.
My doctor said, that this problem often happens to people that drives a lot. In the past, it was known as the jeep's driver infection !

Heh, I watched this video before my surgery and I was terrified. Guess what...my hole is like 2 or 3 times bigger than the one in this video. It's like straight out from some horror movie. In my case I guess it's going to take up to a year for it to glue itself back together. So people...go to the hospital as fast as you can before it gets more complicated. I had mine for like 2 years before going.

I had the cyst surgery, they didn't pack it or anything they just sewed it shut. It busted open about 2 weeks later during the night. Overall it took about 5 weeks to heal because after it popped the stitches my DR told me to just treat it as an open wound. This type of surgery isn't really that bad, it's just that the positioning of yourself while recovering is a pain. It's not easy to get comfortable the first few days. My scar isn't even noticeable though.
Im having this done in a couple of days. Its odd cuz im 30yrs old and never had an issue before till about a year ago. Im in the Army and just recently transfered to a very hot climate so thinking that might of had something to do with it idk. Either way this looks horribly painful. Ive got a few questions though. Im gonna be getting anesthesia via a shot into my spine and wondering if you did the same thing? Also i'll be using the VAC system and wondering if you had any knowledge on that.

@Rjax842 My understanding of the VAC is that it pulls the tissue to the surface, and therefore prevents a cavity from forming (this is what gavev me much trouble with the cyst).
