This is a toilet I acquired, it is an old (unsure of age) low/high level "The Beva Ro 278128" reverse trap syphonic, with a syphon jet which you can see.
It's a lovely Art Deco style one, with the bulge at the front of the pan and cut corners. It still needs a full clean up and soak in Harpic, but I've given it a quick over to clean the worst off. It is slightly crazed in the sump, but doesn't affect it.
This is set up with my high level Regal, Derwent Macdee syphon (So I can show you it with three different flush volumes) and the usual bucket to catch the water, but it had to be raised off the floor due to the soil exit being at floor level!
It does work better with a low level cistern, which I'll upload later when I get a video.
First flush is the full 9 litres, it's much quicker than the Ventura, due to the half open, half jetted box rim. It fills up quite high, then stops and syphons out once.
Second flush is 7.5 litres, this time we get a bit more water going in with the syphonic action.
Last is 6 litres, this seems the best for high level, as yet more water goes into the syphonic action, you can see the syphon jet working too.
I'm not sure whether this is meant to have some sort of refill valve in the cistern, as it appears quite empty after the flush, might just be how it works, I wouldn't think it would meant to as it's low level but I usually refill it manually as you can see.
There will be some testing videos of this, including sponges, paper (The stuff you write on, not the stuff you're meant to flush) etc, but I've got to fully clean it first.
Bloody Brilliant! I Have Never Seen Such A Lovely Flush!

Thanks, I agree, it is a great flush! Mix of washdown and syphonic, best of both.
