I loved the tip about seeing the remote's infrared through a digital camera! I fixed my remote just by adjusting the keypad and checking the result that way.

16MAR11 - I was searching for how to open a Samsung remote control (BN59-00673A). If you have this remote, please note there are 2 screws keeping it together.
One screw is in the batteries compartment under the latch, the other screw is hidden under the sticker on the bottom side that says:
"IF THE LIGHT BUTTON IS SET 'ON', ...BATTERY IS RECOMMENDED."
I used about 5 credit cards instead of a dull knife to wedge remote apart. It helped me discover the 2nd screw and kept me from breaking it!
